I haven't written a full manual yet, but this should get you started
First thing to do is select the database you wish to use. This database will be used to store information about selections you make. Open the File menu and click on "set database" ( or "new database", it's the same thing for now ). This will open a file chooser box in which you can select an existing database or you can enter the name of a new database. All database names must match the *.sdb expression. now click OK. If you selected an existing database it will be opened, if you typed a non existing name the database will be created.
Next, you need to tell the program which video file you would like to view. In the file menu click on "new movie". this will popup another file chooser dialog in which you can point to the (avi) file you'd like to view. clicking on OK will close the dialog box ( if a valid file was selected ) and open the movie.
It's also possible to open a video file that's has already been used in the current database. In the file menu click on "open movie". This will popup a new window. In this window there's a list from which you can choose a movie. clicking on ok will result in opening the movie.
The program is written to process video files as fast as possible. All important commands can be issued by using your mouse and your left hand on the 3 modifier keys ( shift, alt, ctrl ) at the left hand side of your keyboard.( or vice versa for left handed users ) Here's a list of all mouse-key combinations and actions that belong to it.
|-||left||start dragging a selection. releasing the mouse button will confirm the selection you made|
|ctrl||left||start dragging the left hand side and the top side of the current selection. releasing the mouse button will confirm the new shape of the selection|
|alt||left||start dragging the right hand side and the bbottom side of the current selection. releasing the mouse button will confirm the new shape of the selection|
|ctrl-alt||left||start moving the whole selection. releasing the button will confirm the new location for this selection.|
|-||right||clicking will display next frame|
|shift||right||clicking will display previous frame|
|ctrl||right||clicking will highlight the next selection|
|ctrl-shift||right||clicking will highlight the previous selection|
You don't have to bother saving your work. this is automatically done whenever you display a new frame or when you close the movie.
